Cheryl Cole has reportedly turned to religion for reassurance after her "worst ever year".This year has seen the X Factor judge divorce husband Ashley, struck down with malaria and face a backlash over some of her decisions on the ITV show. The Sun claims that Cole has now sought guidance from "higher powers".
"Cheryl has awakened her spiritual side," a source said. "She has been tapping into higher powers for answers and guidance.
"She's been doing some deep thinking - especially after malaria. Christianity is closest to her, but she's open to other religious influences."
It was added that Cole's close friend Derek Hough is a Mormon, while Black Eyed Peas frontman will.i.am, her frequent collaborator, is also religious.
