Neo-Soul diva, Lami Philips, is set to thrill her fans to a spectacular evening of her music tomorrow, Friday, April 8, 2011 at the Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.

Tagged, LAMI UNPLUGGED, the event would see her render special live performances of tracks from her debut album, INTUITION and offer a glimpse into her forthcoming sophomore album. She would be complemented by her colleagues and friends – OJB Jezreel, M.I, Eldee the Don, Ikon, Kel, Sound Sultan and a number of others who featured on some of the works in both the current album and the yet to be released new one.

An excited Lami revealed her joy at once again being able to connect with her fans who she feels haven’t seen much of her since her debut in the Nigerian music industry almost two years ago. “I want to use the opportunity to appreciate my friends and fans who have stuck with me since I arrived on the scene. I haven’t been very much available to them because of so many commitments but they have enjoyed my music and made me feel loved and I just want to use this opportunity to express my gratitude to them.”

Speaking further on the performances of the evening, Lami, promised that guests are set to experience live music of a different brand. “All the songs would be delivered in a special way different from the way they appeared on the CD so that the guests can feel them in a different way while I introduce them to some of the songs on the forthcoming album,” she said.

Later the same year, in August, she was appointed an Advocate for the United Nations Millennium Campaign. This thrusts her into the forefront of raising awareness about the Millennium Development Goals and the General Elections in Nigeria. She also has her own NGO called Be the Change.
