New Music : Boogie down by J.Skillz

J-Skillz began singing from the church choir, from where he joined a two-man group called Da-Switch in 2000. His first live performance was in 2001 where he opened a show where Weird MC was the headline act. J-Skillz then shot his first musical video for the hit single “Shake”. In 2008, J-Skillz broke out of Da-Switch to launch his solo career by dropping his seminal hit “Runmo”. He then joined the Black Label family in 2009. J-Skillz (an acronym which means John-Skillful), is a prolific songwriter and dancer. Born in Lagos into a family of eight, his late father was a pastor of the Cherubim and Seraphim church while his mother is a trader. J-Skillz is the youngest of six siblings with four brothers and a sister. He had his primary education at CMS Primary School in Bariga, and his secondary education in Baptist High School Obanikoro.
