Message from the Commissioner for Transport, Lagos State relating to the accident

This is the message from Hon. Opeifa, Commissioner for Transport, Lagos State relating to the accident on 3rd Mainland Bridge this morning.

We have just recovered the Private Refuse Truck wt an inscription of Oluwapinre & reg num xz 470 AAA rammed into an Acura Legend saloon car with reg num JL 358 EKY on motion as a result of mechanical defect ( steering wheel of the truck pulled off) such that one of the occupants of the car fell into the Lagoon at UNILAG axis inward Iyana Oworo. The man had been rescued from the lagoon while the driver of the car survived from the mangled car but the lady beside didn't. The driver of the Highway Manager truck has now been detained at Oworonshoki Police Station. While the survivors are at Gbagada General Hospital.
