The Headies took place on Saturday, October 20, 2012 at The Expo Centre Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Laagos. The event was hosted by singer Omawumi and Rapper M.I.
Rapper Vector was the biggest winner of the night; after receiving his
first ever ‘Headie’ in the ‘Best Rap Single’ category for his hit
‘Angeli’ featuring 9ice, the lanky rapper also picked
up the ‘Lyricist on the Roll’ award which was presented by the five-time
winner of that category, Modenine.

‘Artiste
of the Year’ went to EME Ayo ‘Wizkid’ Balogun. The 22-year-old,
who was the third and final act to walk away with two awards was also
awarded the
‘Revelation of the Year’ award. ‘I want to thank you all for supporting me‘, Wizzy said as he picked up his second award.
MAVIN Records crew
picked up two awards for ‘Best Vocal Performance Male’ Wande Coal’s ‘Private trips’ and Tiwa Savage’s ‘Love
me 3x’ won Best Vocal Performance Female.
The ‘Next Rated’ award which comes with the special prize of a Hyundai Sonata was won by Omo baba Olowo Himself Davido well some people didn't agree with this category but eh!! he won it.
Live performances from Bez and Praiz, who performed ‘Stupid song‘, Timi Dakolo performed ‘Great nation’ song, Chidinma Ekile performed 'Kedike' with Dammy Krane and 'Jankoliko'. The Headies Rookies Winners Burna Boy and Dammy Krane performed their songs at The Headies awards. Eva Alordiah performed 'High' and 'I don did it'.
The show with the EME all stars - Banky W, Wizkid, Skales, Niyola, Shaydee and DJ Xclusive delivering a heavy performance... It was the best performance of the night.. They Killed it

the organizers didn't try this year at all.
ReplyDeleteDavido deserves the enxt rated category but not the car.. he won't use it. The would have given davido the award and give someone else the car in the same category.

Vector deserves both awards. This is his time
