Hello Reader,

It has been an awesome experience writing and  having you read on the blogger (blogspot.com) platform, Truly exciting. No! I am not going to be putting an end to the blog, blogging is life! You, the reader makes it all count.

This is to announce the move of the platform to a dotcom, this means future post would go live on www.olorisupergal.com. The website would be open to access by 6PM (Nigerian Time) on Friday 26th of October 2012.The platform is totally new but still going to have the 'Olorisupergal' awesomeness and moving the followership widget to the new website so you barely notice the change. 

Blogger/blogspot was fun but the Olorisupergal.com is going to be a lot more fun - been populating the site with content and I totally love it already.

Let's keep our fingers crossed, launch time again is 6PM, Today and do let me know what you think afterwards.

MTN Lagos Fashion and Design Week Begins In Style

The 2012 Lagos Fashion and Design Week, kicks off tonight, but organizers and partners met with the press this morning to discuss the event and what it is about. Present were Omoyemi Akerele, the Creative Director / Founder of the Lagos Fashion and Design Week; Michael Wagner, the Brand Manager of Porsche Nigeria; and Bridget Chukwumah, the Head of Retail, for Research in Motion, West Africa.
Omoyemi Akerele, started off by introducing the event, and some of the objectives of the Week. She pointed that there are many challenges in the fashion industry in Nigeria, and they intend to work with partners like the British Council to develop the Nigerian fashion industry. She pointed to the contribution of RIM, Blackberry makers and to Porsche as the “logistic and lifestyle partners, and a luxury brand for the fashion industry in Nigeria”

She spoke of MTN Communications, the title sponsor, and their commitment to helping

As parents, Jay-Z and Beyoncé want more than anything to protect their child...and future business interests related to their child. The Carters had been looking to do the latter by trademarking the name of their daughter, Blue Ivy, but lost that battle in court recently.

Beyoncé allegedly was interested in trademarking the name for use on a line of baby clothes, but it was already taken by a woman in Boston who had been running the Blue Ivy Events company since 2009.

The Carters were sent a rejection letter from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, which sided with the events planner and granted her a wide range of rights to use the name to promote her business.

Wizkid Employs New Manager Godwin Tom

 News broke sometime in July that Wizkid had parted ways with his long-time manager Osagie Osarenkhoe, and he had label executives handle matters that concern his career which couldn’t happen for long but he has hired a new one which he has taken his time to do, it seems.

If going by face that was around the Starboy at the Headies on Saturday, Wizkid now have a new manager who also happens to be the manager of female singing sensation Waje Iruobe. His name is Godwin Tom and he is no stranger to the music industry as he previously managed M.I. and most recently Show Dem Camp.

It does seem that Wizkid and his new manager are bonding well. Though no official words from both parties

 P-Square, Eldee, Chidinma, Iyanya and others are to headline 'Beat Of Lagos' concert organised by Motbensonz and Beat FM. This event, which debuted in 2011, will hold on Saturday, October 27, 2012 at the Grand Ballroom of Oriental Hotel, Lekki, Lagos.

Okonjo-Iweala is the 81st ‘Most Powerful Woman’ in the world

American business magazine Forbes has listed Nigeria’s Minister of Finance Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala in their recent ‘Most Powerful Women in 2012‘ list.

Only three Africans make the list: Malawian President Joyce Banda who comes in at 61st place, Okonjo-Iweala at 81, and Liberian President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf who follows closely at

Iweala, 58, is serving a second time in the ministry of finance. From 2003 to 2006 she served Nigeria under the administration of former President Olusegun Obasanjo.

Nollywood comic acts, Osita Iheme(Pawpaw) and his famous on-screen partner Chinedu Ikedieze(Aki) have taken a step further in film production with their newly floated movie production company named APEN- Aki and Pawpaw Entertainment Nigeria.

Sources  gathered that the internationally recognized actors decided to establish the company as a means to help interested and upcoming actors boycott the hectic challenge(s) of going through Producers difficulties and also maximize their own profit.

Expectations on their first movie project under the new production company will be out at the end of the year.

Nigerian international pop star and EME starboy, Wizkid has just been selected to perform alongside top international acts at the BBC 1xtra Live concert in November.

Following the announcement by the BBC last night, it has now been confirmed that Wiz will join the likes of Trey Songs and Kendrick Lamar to perform at the BBC 1xtra live concert on November 12, 2012 at Brixton Academy in London.

This big feat comes on the heels of his announcement as Artiste of the year, and best new artiste, at Nigeria’s biggest music awards The Headies, last Saturday.

Other acts billed for the BBC 1Xtra Radio concert are Tulisa and Angel.

Federal Government declares Thursday and Friday Public Holiday

The Federal Government has declared Thursday and Friday as public holidays to mark the 2012 Eid El-kabir celebrations.

Minister of Interior, Abba Moro who announced this in Abuja on Monday, called on Nigerians to imbibe and emulate the worthy tenets of Islam as practiced by the holy Prophet Mohammad.

A statement by the Permanent Secretary,ministry of interior, Mrs. Daniel Nwaobia quoted Moro as urging the citizens to pray for peace and prosperity of the nation.

There was no break-up per se, 20bucks relocated to the UK to join his family and bugzy just concluded his masters in the UK too.

As a rapper, how do you intend to connect with/entertain impatient Nigerian music fans without compromising your standard?
I’m just trying to tell stories that are real to me thru my music and I think that true fans of music respect music that is good and genuine!

 I'm aware you're working on a rap project titled "The Gemini Project". What is it all about?
 The Gemini project is a collection of thoughts, emotions and ideas of loose kaynon captured in song form.

On the set of her video for "Diamonds," Rihanna is on fire — and so is the world around her.
The singer was spotted at the L.A. shoot over the weekend, and by the looks of it, the lead clip from her November album release, Unapologetic, finds the singer smack-dab in the middle of an apocalypse-type scenario. Yet, she still manages to look completely stylish.
