Since her groundbreaking win, she has been hard at work burning the mid night candle at the studio and working with some of Nigeria’s most talented songwriters and producers. She has already worked with the likes of super-producer Cobhams Asuquo who gave the world Asa, Naeto C’s hit producer Tee-Y Mix and the godfather of contemporary highlife J. Martins. “Right now I am in the studio with really talented artistes, songwriters and producers. I am putting a whole lot of energy into my first album because the expectations are high. I not scared but challenged to produce an album that will reflect who I am artistically as well as make an impact in the Nigerian music industry” says Chidinma about recording her first album. 

JERRILYN PLANS BIG FOR MUSIC VIDEO

Exotic singer Jerrilyn Mulbah who dropped two singles recently plans to release her music video in July. The video would be shot in Lagos Nigeria and according to the petite singer, all arrangements are in top gear. "I am working really hard towards making the Mr DJ video a reality.  We are bringing in new equipment into the country that would be used for the video and we intend to work with one of the best hands here in Nigeria”

“It is a very exciting concept involving a lot of professional dancers. We are shooting in over 10 different locations over a period of one month. We have exciting props and special effects planned for the video”,  says an excited Jerrilyn Badex, a fast-rising director, who just came in from Singapore with an award from Cannes festival under his belt would be directing the video. Sean Kingston in Stable Condition after Jet Ski Crash

 

After being involved in what could have been a tragic jet ski crash, Sean Kingston has been moved from critical to stable condition at a Miami hospital. The 'Beautiful Girls' singer and a female passenger were rushed to the emergency room after their jet ski collided with a bridge on Sunday evening.

According to sources, a bystander "tended" to the hip-hop star and the unidentified female before medics were able to arrive at the scene and transport the pair to Jackson Ryder Trauma Center.

"Sean Kingston is now stabilized and has moved from the trauma unit to ICU," Kingston's publicist said in a public statement. "Sean's family thanks everyone for their prayers and support during this time."

There has been no word as to the condition of the female passenger. Although there has been no indication that alcohol was a factor in the crash, an investigation into what exactly caused the pair's collision with the Palm Island Bridge is underway.

Kingston's friend and collaborator, Justin Bieber, recently took to his Twitter account to send the 21-year-old singer his well wishes: "Got my friend @seankingston in my prayers tonight. a true friend and big bro. please keep him in your prayers as well," he tweeted.

BBA EVICTION : MICHAEL HAS BEEN EVICTED

 

Mozambique’s Michael became the third Housemate to be evicted from M-Net’s Big Brother Amplified, last night as Bernadina lived to fight another day, in the Tails House.

Michael found himself up for eviction after Head of House Vimbai saved Hanni and put him up in her place, once the nominations had been announced last Monday. When IK took viewers into the House and asked Vimbai to reveal her decision to her Housemates, she told them that she had saved Hanni because she reminded her of herself at the same age and replaced her with Michael, who she said played the role of the “dishonest broker”. “When does it (strategy) stop being a game and start impacting on our lives outside of these walls?” she asked.

IK summoned Bernadina to the stage as the Housemates looked around, bewildered. As the Namibian emerged to join him on stage, he asked her about her best memory in the House – but interrupted her response as Big Brother delivered a message via his earpiece. “Big Brother has asked me to tell you to leave the stage,” he told her, with a shrug. Shocked at being cut off, she turned and walked off stage. Moments later, she emerged into the Tails House to great shrieks of delight, declaring “I knew there was another House!” as she shared hugs with her new ‘new’ Housemates.

TELL US ABOUT YOUR BACKGROUND?
I think I enjoyed a normal Lagos upbringing, with hints of aje-pako. LOL. Primary School in Surulere, Secondary School in Victoria Island, First Degree at  Babcock University, where I studied Mass Communication, plus I served in Lagos. It seemed very sheltered, so I’ve tried, in all of this, to explore Nigeria one state at a time.  I’ve been to most of the commercial cities, expect those in the East.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE CHILDHOOD MEMORY?
Sneaking out of secondary school to hang out with classmates at Double 4. I’ve always been a sucker for pizza.

FOR HOW LONG HAS SIGNATURE SCENTS BEEN IN THE BUSINESS?
Just 6 months! Amazing, yeh?

Sean Kingston -- Out of Trauma Unit, Into ICU

Sean Kingston has been transferred from the trauma unit to the intensive care unit at Jackson Memorial Hospital -- where he is in critical condition, but has been stabilized ... this according to his rep.


Kingston and a female friend were injured in Miami last night in a jet ski accident. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.

Kingston's rep said, "Sean's family thanks everyone for their prayers and support during this time."

Selena Gomez has become the target of death threats after she was pictured frolicking with boyfriend Justin Bieber in Hawaii. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE CHILDHOOD MEMORY?I came out of my mother's womb and straight into her closet! Her closet is my earliest memory. As a young girl, I thought she epitomized glamour. Everything about her was and is still beautiful-her hair, her jewelry, her shoes and those long leather bags that are probably taller than I am..lol. My fondest memories are of me and Isegun (my kid sister) soaked our tiny bodies in her artistic jewelry which we wore to church on a Sunday! I'm sure Willow Smith was inspired by that look when she dressed up like Rihanna to the Grammys in 2009.

WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO BECOME A FASHION STYLIST?Since I was little, I've always wanted more in life. Not more things, but just better. When it comes to quality, it has to be the best there possibly is. The quality of a well made shoe. The quality of time I spend with my dogs Billy, Skuki, Pete, Andrea (May his soul rest in peace) and Bobby. The time I spend with the children in the Sunday school. Sometimes, it's worth saving for some stuff!

Even all grown up and a part of the global fashion machine, I still love opening Vogue magazines and getting lost in the stories and pixs of all the amazing parties and people featured. I study the images. I dream. I make notes of certain outfits for future reference. I admit it's aspirational and inspirational. But it's personal indulgence that has probably had its professional merits, too in my career as a fashion stylist.

Before The Oprah Winfrey Show aired, 1985: A relaxed look for a woman who didn’t yet know how powerful she would come to be. Nice boots. I wonder if she still has them?

    Her first Daytime Emmy, 1987: So late 80s with the geometric sequined blazer and chunky earrings!

After losing 67 pounds, 1988: On this historic show, Oprah wheels out 67 pounds of fat, representing the weight she lost on the now bogus Optifast diet. She wore a pair of size 10 Calvin Klein jeans she saved from her younger days. I love the simplicity of this outfit, and that fabulous cowboy belt buckle!

Oprah on OWN press tour, 2011: Oprah rocks her queenly robes to her press tour for her newly launched network. I love the collar on this and the deep teal jewel-toned hue. It’s a great look to kick off a great endeavor.

At her 50th birthday party, 2004: Oprah chose to look like a lady in an ivory tea-time suit. That lace detail on the inside sleeve is divine.

Oprah Winfrey ends Show

 Oprah Winfrey hosted the very last episode of  “The Oprah Winfrey Show”. The last show was the 4,561^st episode of her daytime show that has lasted for 25 years. Despite a quarter of a century’s worth of grand gifts, celebrity superstars and amazing makeovers, the last show was simple and humble. Oprah stated that the last show was about the host saying thank you to her fans and to pay tribute to over 25 years of support.


The last show, called the Oprah Winfrey Finale, was taped before a studio audience on Tuesday afternoon and broadcast earlier yesterday. Winfrey wore a simple pink dress and the show showed favorite clips from 25 years on the air, as well as the life lessons that Winfrey had learned along the way. It was a stark contrast from the surprise special in previous episodes that had featured stars such as Beyonce, Madonna and Tom Hanks.

The 57-year old Winfrey was among the first pioneers for daytime television. She tackled hard subjects such as incest, rape, sexuality, and mental sickness. Her show also became one of the favorite forums for celebrities to promote their projects as well as air out their personal problems and public scandals. Winfrey also created the Oprah Book Club in 2004, encouraging reading in America. The show was also known for lavish giveaways. In one memorable show, Winfrey gave each of her 276 audience members a brand new car.
Over the years, Winfrey and her HARPO company became one of the biggest names in the industry. Her work with her day time show paved unprecedented success. She was ranked the richest African American in the 20^th century, and was for a time the only African American billionaire. According to some publications, she is also considered to be the most influential woman in the world. Her current net worth is over $2.7 billion.

Cabo Snoop for Big Brother Amplified’s May 29th eviction show

He is described as the most eccentric musician on the African continent, Angolan Kuduro star, Cabo Snoop will grace the Big Brother Amplified stage this Sunday 29 May during the Live Eviction Show. Cabo Snoop was first introduced to music as a member of dance group, The Crazy Boyz. When they took part in the dance competition “Bounce”, they were not successful but he didn’t give up. Later in life, he was invited to work for record label, Power House, as an assistant for the videos technical team.

It was at Power House where he was given the name “Cabo Snoop”. The musician has always had a love for Kuduro, Hip Hop, R & B, Break Dance and House Music”. His first single “Warap entaum” was well received and he has never looked back since it was released.

Cabo Snoop has just completed his first album “Bluetooth,” and his first DVD, “Email.” As much as he now has fans and in the world of fame, he has not changed.

South Africa's Nkuli at the eviction show

Africa voted and South Africa’s Nkuli became the second Housemate to be evicted from M-Net’s Big Brother Amplified, last night (22 May at 19:00 CAT on DStv Channel 198). Her Tails Housemates Luclay, Mumba and Kim were sent back into the house to continue their quest for the USD 200 000 prize.

After Miss P had revealed her decision to save Karen and replace her with Mumba – citing the entertainment value of the Nigerian’s ‘exaggerated personality’ as the reason for the switch – IK summoned Luclay, Nkuli, Mumba and Kim to the stage. After a brief chat with each of them, he asked Luclay, Mumba and Kim to stand, before sending them off stage without revealing their fate.

As they re-emerged into the house amidst screams of delight from their Housemates, it dawned on Nkuli that she had been evicted from the Big Brother Amplified House.

After checking out a clip of Nkuli’s highlights from her time in the house, IK confirmed that the verified name in the envelope handed to him by the Ernst & Young auditor was Nkuli’s and that she had been evicted from the game. He quizzed her about her best memory of her time in the House. “I definitely enjoyed both of the parties,” she replied. “And who will you miss the most?” asked IK with a wry smile. “Michael, definitely,” she replied. “Who will you miss the least?” he asked. The South African replied that she would miss Ernest, Nic and Alex the least, calling them two-faced.

The annual African Gospel Music Awards (AGMA) is back with it’s 2nd edition. It was Founded in 2009; the Africa Gospel Music Association serves as the face and voice for the Africa gospel/Christian music community worldwide and is dedicated to exposing, promoting and celebrating the gospel through Africa-fusion music of all styles.
Nigeria dominates the nominations list with average of two appearances per category including ‘Best Song’, ‘Best Video’, Best Video’ and 14 other categories.
Big gospel acts like Lara George and Kefee fall under the ‘Overall Best Female Artiste‘ category as well as Toyin Motara. Other Nigerian’s nominated include Joe Praize, Charles Granville, Sinach, Dj Gosporella, X2D, Onos Bikawei

This year's edition which will take place on Saturday, July 9, 2011 at The Lighthouse Hall, Camberwell Rd, 262-274 Camberwell Road, London will see performances from Nigeria’s own young gospel act Eben.

Kc Presh Break up News

The news of their break up as a recording duo hit the ground with the endless Blackberry broadcast messages from colleagues and fans. The broad cast messages said due to irreconcilable differences, however A source close to them as exclusively informed us that it might as well be a publicity stunt to launch their solo careers as there was no ‘serious’  discord between them where they ‘vehemently’ announced terminating their relationship as a recording duo.
Source informs that: “I just left their house minutes ago, There are other issues but the major reason was to pursue their solo act ambition”

You should have bumped into the Blackberry broadcast that the flashy duo of the ‘Sengemenge’ fame have broken up as a unit due to irreconcilable differences, this happened earlier yesterday  and there goes their desire to own same cars and house. Also, who moves out for who since they live or use to live in the same house? We are guessing what the irreconcilable difference would be – the married one having an affair with a girlfriend of the unmarried but I think it is one being swindled by the other. Anyways, as soon as they speak we’d let you know.

YOUTH LUNCH WITH MR. PRESIDENT.

 

A select group of Nigerian youths, myself included, were invited to have lunch with president Jonathan this afternoon to talk about issues that concerns the young people of this country and how we can all work together to move the nation forward. The event held 1pm today at Eko Hotel and Suites, Lagos. I was not there cos i was not invited :( .  I wanted to know what exactly happened at the  gathering yesterday  with the president. Nothing out of the ordinary, just a lot of passionate youths who had a lot to say. Hopefully the president listened to all we had to say.

LINEO BURIES MUM NEXT WEEK

Friends and fans of Lineo will be interested to know that next week Thursday (2nd) and Friday (3rd) of June have been set aside to finally lay the entertainer's late mum to rest. The venue will be their home town - Omu, Ijebu Ode, Ogun State.

The fast rising entertainer, Adekoya Adegboyega a.k.a Lineo  lost his mother Olushola Adekoya. The sad incident happened on Friday, May 20, 2011.

If music is food for life, then you can say Prince Adekoya Adegboyega Yusuf a.k.a Lineo (Legend Indeed Now Extra Ordinary) is eating so much and he’s not about to stop any time soon. He was born in Lagos into a big royal family originated from Ogun state. His father (a king) has 12 wives, making him one of his father’s 40 children.

Lineo would pass for a rebellious prince who decided to pursue a career in music against their traditional belief, which does not permit a prince to sing or dance for people - the reverse should be the case.
Music for Lineo is more of a calling than a pursuit. He is big fan of Michael Jackson as a musician and entertainer. His journey into showbiz started with modeling. Close observers would have seen the dark, tall and handsome dude on billboards for a giant telecommunications company in Nigeria. Before this, he was his principal’s favourite entertainer during social events while at Mayflower Secondary School, Ogun State.

His first attempt in higher learning was put on hold when he dropped out of University of Abuja but he recently applied to continue with Ogun State University where he will be reading Mass Communication. “I was carried away by my youthful exuberance but now I have everything under control,” he says.
Today, Lineo is one of the songwriters, singers, rappers and producers who has enjoyed a fair share of attention in Nigeria’s music industry. One of his first singles “I Dey Ring”, released in 2004, became a popular ringtone for many. “Let’s Get It Started” (2007) followed with a video that enjoyed wide rotation.

Lineo Elepepe Master loses Mum

Lineo lost his Mum on  20th of  May 2011. She died at 61, in Ijebu ode Ogun state. She died in her sleep, he   traveled to see her on Monday and he left on Tuesday. They  talked , laughed, prayed. And waved good bye.  She died on Friday so sad She was mother off all.  She's loved by everyone. I will surely miss her forever. She's in full support of his  music career when she saw that he has  invested his  soul into it.

Survived by children, Adegboyega Adekoya aka lineo elepepe master, Adewale Aderibigbe, and Sumisola Akinmande, Grand children,  Senior sister, and Brothers. mAY HER GENTLE SOUL REST IN PEACE..
