Veteran Nollywood actor, comedian Sam Loco Efe, is dead. According to sources, the 66 year-old actor died today on location, in his hotel room in Owerri, Imo State. Nollywood Actor, Osuofia popularly known as Osuofia in London expressed his feeling on twitter this evening. He said " Sam Loco Died in his sleep in the early hours of today after complaining of a heart ceasure yesterday Sam Loco was 66 years of age. He will be remembered by family, friends and fans. Sam Loco was a great comedian. May his wonderful soul rest in Peace. Amen" those were his words. May his soul rest in peace.

MTV unveils Basketmouth as host of the Big Friday Show.

Ace Comedian Basketmouth  has been revealed as the host of THE BIG FRIDAY SHOW – the edgy new Friday night music and entertainment show from MTV Networks Africa and STV. The show will be airing every Friday night from 5 August, THE BIG FRIDAY SHOW brings fireworks, fun and Nigerian youth culture to Friday night TV. While many are wondering why Tosin Martins has been out of the scene of entertainment events for some time now, the talented musician returns to say the year has been the busiest for him so far.

High point of the evening was the star studded-performance by the trio of MI, Cobhams and Tosin Martins on the song “WHY” produced by Cobhams, which drew a standing ovation from the august members of the audience.

Tosin’s musical expertise has been beckoned on again this year by Glo Naija sings. For him it is always an exciting opportunity to be on a musical reality show because in one way or the other, it is some form of giving back of musical experience and expertise to produce more African talents.

Tosin martins who is not unfamiliar with the struggles and challenges of breaking grounds in the Nigerian entertainment industry, says his success story can be described as a typical story of faith and hard work.

Lagos |Nigeria Smooth Promotions today announced the nominations for the Headies 2011.

The nominees for the annual urban music awards were announced via the official website www.theheadies.com, and on the Beat 99.9 FM by Radio personality Oreka Godis.

Chocolate City scored a remarkable 15 nomination including nine nominations for Ice Prince (Song of the year, Producer of the year, Best Rap Single for Oleku and She and my Swagga, Lyricist on the roll, Best Collabo for Oleku and Joor Oh Remix ,Next Rated and Best street hop for Joor Oh Remix), Five nominations for MI (Artiste of the year, Album of the year, Best Collabo, Best Conscious music and lyricist on the roll) while Jesse Jagz has  two nominations for Producer of the Year and Hiphopworld revelation of the year.
