Sunny Ade now born again christian.

The News Agency of Nigeria reported that the musician was among the 30 worshippers that rushed out to be prayed for when the church’s General Overseer, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, made an altar call.

The report also said that when Adeboye asked those who answered the call to confess their sins, Sunny Ade was the first to kneel down.

KSA was quoted to have said, “I have nothing to say than to come and thank you God for what you have been doing for me and my family.” KSA also rendered a song in Yoruba with members of his band thus, ‘‘If not for God, I would have been gone and buried. I thank you God for my life.’’

So, it may not be out of place to add ‘‘evangelist’’ to the name of the singer as a mark of recognition anytime one comes across him.

Jonathan appoints Bianca Ojukwu, others as aides.

President Goodluck Jonathan has appointed Chief Odumegwu Ojukwu's wife' Bianca and three others as presidential aides.
The appointments according to his spokespersion, Ima Niboro takes immediate effect.

The new appointees are: Hon. Kingsley K. Kuku as Special Adviser, Niger Delta Affairs; Amb. (Dr.) Zakari Ibrahim as Coordinator, Anti Terrorism; Mrs. Bianca Ojukwu as Senior Special Assistant, Diaspora Affairs and Oyewole Olugbenga Leke as Senior Special Assistant, Maritime Services.

VOTER REGISTRATION: WE’LL NEED N6.6BN FOR SEVEN DAYS EXTENSION – INEC

It will cost the Independent National Electoral Commission an extra N6.6bn to fund the ongoing voter registration for an additional week.
The Chairman of the commission, Prof. Attahiru Jega, made this known when he appeared before the Senate in Abuja on Wednesday.

He told the Senate which had on Monday summoned him over the hiccups resulting from the voter registration that the amount (N6.6bn) would be needed for payment of allowances, lamination of cards as well as the purchase of ink and papers.

The allowances, according to him, will be paid to 240 electoral personnel and 9,000 registration officers.
Jega told the lawmakers, who had thought that the electoral body needed more than an addition one week that INEC was registering an average of 4.3 million people per day.
He explained that going by the figure, between 43 million and 45 million people would have been registered by the time the deadline for the exercise runs out on Saturday.

An extra one week, he said, would afford the commission to register up 65 million voters and not 70 million people he had said would be registered by the commission.
Explaining that INEC had found out after streamlining the figure (70 million) that it was less, he appealed to the Senate to amend the Electoral Act in such a way that the commission could continue registration beyond January 29.

He said, “From our own projection as I speak with you now sir, if the electoral act is properly amended, we believe that if we have an extension of one week from January 29 to February 5, we will be able to register every registrable Nigerian.
“The constraints we have, as the provision of the Act stands now, is that we have to finish all registrations latest 60 days to the election which is latest by the second week of February. So as it stands now, unless there is an amendment to the Act, we cannot do much extension beyond four days. That is between January 29 and February 5.

“If we have an extension of an additional one week, we believe that we will be able to finish this exercise very successfully. We have all the projection.”
According to the INEC chairman, it would not require more than seven days as further extension would make it uncomfortably too close to the election.

“We will be happier with 10 days of more extension, but we will be uncomfortably closed to the elections and also considering the cost,” Jega said.
He also admitted that there were problems such as the failure of some of the machines, and officials not following the rules and instructions.
Jega also conceded that the Direct Data Capturing machines had just arrived in some centres in Kwara and Enugu states.

He said one of the contractors failed to deliver at the agreed time, creating problems for INEC in its effort to commence registration simultaneously across the country.
According to him, about 1,000 of the machines have been reported broken down nationwide, while about 500 of them have been replaced by the concerned contractors.

He denied that the machines were substandard, arguing that their quality was ascertained and due processes followed in procuring them.
Jega said, “I am not underestimating the challenges. There are serious challenges and some of them are human. These problems are normal and we are responding quickly to the problems as they come.”
The INEC chairman also said that many people were still involved in double registration even though it had been made clear that those involved would be arrested and prosecuted.
On the possibility of falling back to the old voter register should the present exercise fail, Jega said that the commission would not contemplate such.

According to him, no matter how imperfect the current exercise would be, it would still be far better than the last register that had been rejected.
He said while most members of the National Youth Service Corps had done exceptionally well, about 15 of them had been arrested for alleged “criminal activities.”
Senators used the opportunity to relive their experiences in their respective constituencies, saying that Jega’s optimism was not replicated at the various registration centres across the country.

The President of the Senate, Mr. David Mark, in his comments said it was not the responsibility of Jega to determine the number of days that voter registration should last.
He said that the National Assembly would decide that through the amendment of the Electoral Act.
Turning to Jega, he said, “You have to deal more with what is going on in the field rather than depend only on what your staff is telling you. They may not be telling you the truth; if they tell you that registration is not taking place then it would be self- indictment.

Messi fined €2,500 for wishing mum happy birthday.

Lionel Messi has been fined for lifting his shirt to reveal a vest wishing his mother a happy birthday after scoring a goal for Barcelona.
The world player of the year ran over to a television camera to reveal the words “Happy birthday, mami” on an undershirt after scoring a penalty in Barca’s 3-0 home win over Racing Santander on Saturday.
The referee did not book the Argentine forward for the celebration but mentioned the action in his match report.
The federation’s disciplinary committee punished Messi under their article 91.1 for goal celebrations, which carries a fine of between 2000 and 3000 euros, and awarded him a yellow card.

GRAMMATICAL MISTAKES PEOPLE MAKE ON THEIR BLOG.

Whatever language you speak, it’s important to have a strong written command of it. Not everyone has the gift of great writing skills, but learning some common mistakes could make a big difference. Don’t think this is important to blogging? Well, a lot of people would say otherwise. Making silly mistakes can really do a number on your credibility not only as a writer, but also as an expert in your field. I’ve compiled a list of some pretty common mistakes people make in writing that you’ll hopefully find helpful in cleaning up your blogging.

1. Your/You’re
I see this one all the time. “Your” implies ownership. “You’re” is a contraction for the words “you are.” When you go back and edit your content (which I seriously hope you do), any time you come across the words “your” or “you’re,” reread you sentence and plug in “you are” in its place. If the word is “you’re” and the sentence makes sense reading it as “you are,” you’ve got the right usage. If it doesn’t, it needs some changing.
Example: Your social media blog is getting a lot of hits. You’re really taking off!
2. Their/There/They’re
This one is tricky for a lot of people. The common problem seems to lie between the words “their” and “there.” The word “their,” again, implies ownership. Use it when something belongs to someone or something. The word “there” is a destination. If it gets confusing for you, remember the ownership implied by “their.” Who else would own something? I would. The letter “i” is in the ownership word “their.” That little trick might help you out. The word “they’re” is pretty easy. Much like “you’re,” “they’re” is a contraction for the words “they are.”
Example: Their iPad was delivered to the house over there. They’re not happy about that.

3. Its/It’s
For this one, forget all the rules of ownership and apostrophes. It’s reversed in this case. The word “its” implies ownership while “it’s” is a contraction for the words “it is.” I know that gets really confusing, but again, when you go back and reread your copy, plug in the words “it is” for every case of “it’s.” It’s a good practice to identify wrong uses of words.
Example: It’s really important to be on Twitter. Our company can benefit from its broad reach.

4. Then/Than
Here we have another tricky one to remember. It’s usually more confusing when only one letter is different for each usage. “Then” implies a point in time. “Than” is used to imply a difference in an object. Think of it this way: “then” rhymes with “when,” and “when” is a point in time. The word “when” also has the letter “e” in it, so if you simply remember which word is used for describing a point in time, you’ll be able to use “than” correctly, too.
Example: My blog’s visit numbers are greater than they were last month. I can’t believe how low they were back then.
5. Comma Splices
What I’m writing right now is a comma splice, please stop doing it. See what I did there? I took two separate ideas and put them together with a comma in between. The comma splice is an error many of us make, but it’s an easy fix. If you read a sentence that you’ve written that could be split into two sentences, chances are you’ve got a comma splice on your hands. You can replace the comma with a period, or you can replace the comma with a semicolon. Just make sure the two separate ideas, or independent clauses, stand on their own.
Example: What I’m writing right now is not a comma splice. Thank you for knowing the difference.

As I mentioned at various points in this post, editing your copy when you’re done writing it is extremely important. Take a few minutes and read through what you’ve written several times. This will give you a chance to not only clean up the spelling and grammar mistakes you might have made, but you’ll also be able to clearly put your thoughts together. Maybe you’ll even think of a better way to articulate your points. Just make sure you’re putting as much effort into your editing as you put into creating all the great ideas we love reading about.

LADY GAGA IS ENGAGED TO HER BOYFRIEND, LUC CARL.

Speculation is rife this morning that Lady Gaga may be about to announce her engagement to her long-term on/off boyfriend, Luc Carl, after he moved in to her luxury $25,000-a-month Bel Air mansion.

The 24-year old pop diva began dating the 29-year old barman for a second time last year, having previously had a relationship with him four years earlier before she found fame after meeting the failed rock drummer in a New York bar.

The loved-up pair dated for a couple of years before splitting up just before Gaga went global with her first album in 2008.

However, after getting back together, the loved-up pair are taking things more seriously this time around.

E.F.A

EFA releases introspective debut single, E.F.A.

EFA, emerging rapper who has shown his softer side hither to, with his
love themed and inspired rap verses on the Remix of Mo'cheddah's If
You Want Me; DJ Klem's Try Again as well as his very own (recently
leaked) One More Chance; has taken a more hardcore turn in the road.

E.F.A. deviates from what we've seen in his body of work so far. We
see EFA drop the playful and loving demeanor for a more rough edged
foray into the struggle that has come to make up the fast rising MC we
see today.

It was produced by uber-talented Knighthouse producer, DJ Klem.

FACEBOOK PAID $8.5 MILLION TO ACQUIRE FB.COM.

How much money did Facebook fork over when it acquired Fb.com last year? A cool $8.5 million, more than 42 times the amount the company originally paid for Facebook.com.

In November, it was revealed that Facebook was launching a revamped version of Messages. It combined SMS, messaging, chat and e-mail into one interface, although Mark Zuckerberg repeatedly iterated that, “It’s not e-mail.”

One feature of the new Facebook Messages is that it assigns you a personalized Facebook.com e-mail address. If a friend sends a message to your Facebook e-mail, you will receive it in your Facebook Inbox. Unfortunately, Facebook’s employees were using the Facebook.com domain for their e-mails already, so they had to switch to another domain, which is why Facebook needed to buy Fb.com in the first place.

Facebook acquired the domain sometime last year from the American Farm Bureau Federation, which uses fb.org as its primary domain. At its annual meeting in Atlanta, the non-profit revealed that it earned $8.5 million on the sale of fb.com, according to Reuters.

FACEBOOK IS NOT SHUTTING DOWN.

An opinion piece published on CNN said that the recent Goldman Sachs investment was the “beginning of the end” for Facebook. That post went viral with more than 5,000 Facebook “likes” and could be partially to blame for the ensuing panic that Facebook would be shutting down and the rumor going viral that Site Said To Be Ending March 15, 2011.

Whatever the reason for this rumor, it’s safe to say that as a site with more than 500 million users and a $500 million investment from Goldman Sachs recently, Facebook won’t be shutting down anytime soon.

The rumor started shortly after Goldman Sachs invested $500 million dollars into Facebook. The social networking site currently has over 500 million users, and many feel that the widespread popularity of the site combined with a large investment protects Facebook from shutting down.

Some online sources have speculated that the rumor is the product of those who are unhappy with the recent investment.

OTHER PASTORS CONDEMN PASTOR CHRIS.

Prominent pastors in the country and readers of P.M.NEWS have slammed Pastor Chris Oyakhilome and his Christ Embassy Church for imposing a N1,000 toll fee on worshipers who attended New Year’s Eve service at the Christ Embassy Headquarters in Lagos, South-West Nigeria.
P.M.NEWS had reported in its 5 January 2011 edition how Christ Embassy pastors sold tickets valued at N1,000 each to worshipers who wanted to attend the crossover service in their church.
Indigent worshipers who could not afford the money were denied access and sent back by security men at the gate. The church explained that it collected gate fees from worshipers to control the huge crowd that always besieges Christ Embassy on New Year’s Eve service.
This development has outraged many Nigerians, including prominent pastors, at home and abroad.
