COLOURFUL REGGAE NIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

COLOURFUL REGGAE NIGHT
The nomination show for the 3rd week was lighted up as Ghanaian Reggae sensation, Batman Samini, Rumba stylee crooner, Ras kimono and Orits Wiliki were among the specially invited guests for the night, their presence in the studio added colour to the show, it was really a night of glitz as the contestants came out one after the other to perform classic reggae songs to the delight of the impatient studio audience.
Ochuko sparked off the night on a bright note with an electrifying rendition of “rock me baby”. Samini who was also an invited judge was quick to say his performance was a project fame version of the song, Christian followed up with a classic performance of Bob Marley’s “I shot the Sheriff” and got a standing ovation from the audience. Jocelia came up and did her thing while Monica had a nice performance but with poor vocal delivery.
Performances continued for the night with Modele as she sang “rat race” by The Mandators, Eyo’s rendition of Ras Kimono’s “Rumba Stylee” was greeted with a thunderous applause from the audience. Small But mighty Chidinma  performed “knock me off my feet” by Mighty Diamonds and she got the judges rolling on their seats as they sang along with her, Helen performed after her and vivacious Rhoda came up on stage with a beautiful rendition of “Mama Africa”. Vwede performed wonderfully well to justify his presence in the academy.
Samuel took to the stage and he sang “don’t turn it off”, although, he had a poor start but ended his performance with an electrifying finishing. Adebola did “I wanna wake up with you”, Shehu’s performance was however not on point, Kesse performed “ land of our birth” by Eric Donaldson and his performance was rated as one of the best for the night. Yetunde ended performances for the night with a rendition of “I need a roof” by Mighty Diamonds. Contestants to go on probation for the following week will be determined by votes across West Africa. The night ended with a closing performance by the Ghanaian wave-making Reggae sensation Batman Samini.

GOLD AND LINDSEY BOWS OUT OF PROJECT FAME SEASON 3

GOLD AND LINDSEY BOWS OUT OF PROJECT FAME SEASON 3
The season of project fame season 3 recorded its first eviction as petite Gold and Lindsey became the first evictees of the show. Performances for the night kicked off with a group performance by the 18 contestans in the academy. Contestants to go on probation was based on votes from their activities in the previous week where the contestants performed many of the Nigerian pop sensation, Asa and many other popular songs of Tracy Chapman.
Modele, Shehu, Lindsey, Gold and Jocelia emerged victims of probation and in a singing battle to evade eviction, they all stepped on stage for a re-performance in order to convince the never compromising panel of judges and the faculty members to book their place back in the academy.
Lindsey faced her nerves and gave a good rendition of Tracy Chapman’s “give me one reason” in spite of the situation she found herself, her performance was well appreciated by the members of audience. Shehu came on stage and performed another Tracy Chapman’s “hello” but suffered through the song due to the unexpected situation he found himself.
Gold who has been dubbed “Waheedi” by the studio audience owing to her catastrophical rendition of Asa’s “Awe” in the previous week graced the stage and performed woefully again, screaming the verses of the song in a very a loud but unusual and comical tone, her performance was the worst for the night, She got the academy’s voice coach, Ige scream,” Gold! What’s wrong with you, do you think the people here will buy your album if you keep singing this way?
Performances for the night continued with Modele’s beautiful rendition of Tracy Chapman’s “you are the one”. The academy’s principal Joke Silva however expressed her worries about her but she believed she deserves a second chance. Jocelia sang the popular “fire on the mountain” by Asa and she completely wowed the crowd as she got everybody rose to their feet and sang along with her. In the words of the faculty members, “probation really helped you in getting your acts together.”
The moment of truth arrived as the contestants on probation stood, looking tensed and waiting to know their fate as regards who goes back into the academy or who would be shown the exit door from the competition? Modele was eventually saved by the judges while the faculty saved Jocelia. A round of votes was casted by contestants not on probation and there was a tie between Lindsey and Shehu.
In order to know who would go back into the academy, another round of votes was casted and Shehu eventually won. He however could not control his emotions as he wept uncontrollably as he retired to his seat.
In their farewell performance, Gold did a scintillating rendition of “many rivers to cross” by UB40 while Lindsey performed “I don’t wanna dance” by Eddy Grant. She was later joined on stage by fellow contestants on stage as she bowed out of the academy.

MO' CHEDDAH IS MTV'S AMBASSADOR IN AUGUST 2010

The name Modupe Oreoluwa may not readily ring a bell but Mo Chedda, may well sound a lot more familiar especially for those who have listened to ‘Da Finest' track from the stables of Knight House.
Mo Chedda is the latest female MC on a mission to rock the Naija rap scene. Although young and petite, a conversation with Modupe reveals a young lady who knows what she wants and where she is headed.

As a young girl growing up in Lagos, she had always known she wanted to do music. At 15 she was already rapping to Bow Wow's songs. She began professionally about six years ago, when a meeting with a family friend would set the pace for the Mo Chedda brand today.
She recalls: "When I was 12 I remember how I used to disturb a family friend of ours, Rogba, who today is one of the Knight House producers, that I wanted to sing. He would look at me and say ‘you really want to do this' and I would say ‘yes'. Since I am a Beyonce fanatic we would go to his house (since there wasn't any studio then) and do all the Beyonce adlibs as he would play me beats. I was just been trained and groomed and taught all the rudiments of music".

The 19 year old Creative Arts Undergraduate of UNILAG has collaborated with top artistes thanks to her bright music talent. Some of these artistes include; M.I, Sasha, Mode 9, eLDee, Skuki, Terry Tha Rapman and others.

The franchise celebrity biography, tour dates and links will have a dedicated page on the www.mtvbase.com website and mobisite.

Mo' Cheddah (Modupe Oreoluwa Oyeyemi) broke into the industry in 2009 when she sang the hook to the rap hit 'The Flyest'. Since then it has been no stopping the singer/rapper. Her single If You Want Me earned a lot of rotation on radio which eventually earned her a nomination in the HHWA 10 Next Rated Category.

MO' CHEDDAH IS MTV'S AMBASSADOR IN AUGUST

In the month of August, MTV Base will get behind fast rising act, Mo' Cheddah and help to build awareness for her across Africa on DSTV.

16-Year-Old Justin Bieber Drives Diddy's $200,000 Lamborghini

16-Year-Old Justin Bieber Drives Diddy's $200,000 Lamborghini

It seems P. Diddy wasn't kidding when he promised Justin Bieber he'd give him the keys to his Lamborghini when the teen pop star turned 16. On Tuesday, Bieber was spotted driving to get some frozen yogurt with his friend Sean Kingston in Diddy's white Gallardo Spyder. (It's not clear if Diddy gave it to Bieber for keeps or just for a spin.)

Bieber, who turned 16 on March 1 and passed the driving test soon after, laughed off Diddy's promise, telling People magazine in March, "[Diddy] said when I turn 16 he will give me his Lamborghini. But we all know Diddy's not going to give me his Lamborghini, he's all talk."

The white Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder (henceforth affectionately referred to as a "Bieberghini") retails for upwards of $210,000, according to Yahoo! Autos. Lamborghinis have become a sort of go-to luxury vehicle for famous people. Other celebrities who've been known to drive Lamborghinis include Soulja Boy, Kobe Bryant, Bam Margera, Benji Madden, David Beckham, and Wilmer Valderrama.

Bieber's fro-yo cohort, rapper Sean Kingston, has his own Lamborghini. In 2009, Kingston challenged Bow Wow to a race in their respective "Lambos." Bow Wow caused a bit of a stir in January when he tweeted about driving his Gallardo while "tipsy." He later apologized for the tweet, saying it wasn't a great way to kick off 2010.
Diddy's Lamborghini isn't even the first car Bieber has received as a gift: His mentor, Usher, gave him a Range Rover for his 16th birthday. Maybe Diddy is trying to show up the R&B singer with something flashier.

Their Lambo stroll wasn't the first time Kingston and Bieber have teamed up, of course -- nor the first time they appeared with a fancy car. Check out the wheels and the Bieber-Kingston duet in the video for "Eenie Meenie," a song the two performers co-wrote.

WANDE COAL DEBUNKS NUDE PICTURE

SOMEBODY IS AFTER WANDE COAL-MOHITS
It has come to our notice that a purported nude picture of Wande Coal is being circulated on social networking site, Twiiter and that made him a trending topic yesterday and early hours of today.
Wande is very grateful to those who have shown him love and as well to those who were constructive in their criticisms. He is saying a massive THANK YOU.
We also want to state categorically that there is nothing wrong or to be ashamed about being naked BUT THE PICTURES IN QUESTION ARE NOT THOSE OF WANDE COAL, the multiple Hip Hop World Award winner. That is not him and that can never be him.
It is worthy of note to let you know that the rising star has been a target of orchestrated attacks in past months. Few months ago false reports of him being treated in a psychiatric home were widely circulated even when he was busy performing in shows in Nigeria and around the world. Later, another report of him slapping a fellow in a club was initiated by some faceless people as well, a report which was false in its entirety. Last year it was also reported that he slapped 9ice during an argument, a report 9ice himself denied. Now, it is a false naked picture that is being used.
We have reason to believe that the person behind these nude pictures is the same person(s) behind earlier negative and false stories. Therefore, we are no longer taking the matter lightly. Appropriate security agencies have been briefed and investigations are on-going so as to ascertain true identity of the culprit and bring him or her to book.
Wande would also like to appeal to his numerous fans to keep calm and assure them that he won’t stop making good music, love them and keep right in all his doings.

NOTTINGHILL CARNIVAL

The World famous Nottinghill Carnival is set to hold again this year and this time around a group of organisations are hoping to stage a Nigerian corner and float in a grand way to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Nigeria’s independence from British Colonial masters.
This year’s edition of the Nigerian corner is tagged ‘Getting close-up with our motherland’, and according to organisers Sodium Brand Solutions, “It will be a celebration of every good thing Nigeria has to offer”. Sodium is organising the Nigerian corner in conjuction with Primetime Entertainment and Reve Entertainment.
The Nottinghill carnival has continuously taken place since inception in 1965, and has been categorized as the second biggest in the world with two million tourists showing up annually. Every year there are more than 40,000 Nigerians in attendance.
“We are planning a Lagos type concert to celebrate Nigeria at 50 at the Notting hill carnival this year that will showcase Nigerian music and culture to the international world. ’’ Abisoye Fagade Principal Consultant at Sodium Brand Solution disclosed tells NET. ‘It is more remarkable because it is our 50th independence anniversary, and England, where the carnival holds, gave us that independence in 1960′
One of the highlights of this year’s event is the “Nigeria@50 dinner party” expected to celebrate the achievements of outstanding Nigerians in the UK (including Nigerian born international designer Alexander Amosu, musicians like the legendary Tunde Bayewu of the Light house family and Sade Adu, clothier Ade Bakare and talented Nigerian British artist Yinka Shonibare who wowed the world recently when he unveiled his work of art- Nelson’s ship at the Trafalgar square in London.)
In line with Nigeria’s  tradition at the carnival, this year’s event will feature top Nollywood stars and dozens of Nigerian musicians who will serenade the guests will 100 percent home-made music.
Last year’s edition featured the likes of DJ Jimmy JATT, El Dee The Don, Gbenga Adeyinka, Ayo Animashaun, Kenny Ogungbe, Dayo Adeneye, Ayo Shonaiya, Steel, DJ Abass and several others on Adela Street off Kensal road end.
After years of gathering under the auspices of Obalende Suya and R70, an unresolved controversy saw Police cordon off the regular meeting point for Nigerians; so in 2007, there was no meeting point for Nigerian revellers. But it wasn’t for long. Two years later, in 2009, Sodium and Reve got the rights to stage the official  Nigerian corner; in partnership with Primetime Entertainment, Hip TV and others…
‘We plan to keep the flag flying. And we’ll continue on August 31 this year’ Oyedeji says.
Nottinghill carnival is an Afro-Caribbean festival that is held annually in the city of London. This year’s Nigerian corner is organised by Reve Entertainment, Primetime Entertainment and Sodium Brand Solution, and Supported by NET, Kennis TV, BlackHouse Media, Digiprints and Hip TV.
