FAAN names Dana Airline as best domestic airline in Nigeria

Despite an air crash that claimed the lives of 153 people four months ago, the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) over the weekend named Dana Air as the best domestic carrier for 2011.

According to FAAN’s Regional General Manager, Mr. Chris Bature, said the airline is yet to commence flights since the crash but was awarded the prize for its good customer relations and prompt payment of dues.
The Federal Government seized Dana Air’s license following the air disaster, but restored the license 93 days after the crash.
Speaking at the occasion, Bature stated that the airline was selected because of its outstanding performance and punctuality while Lufthansa Airlines was also selected as the best international carrier for the same period.
He explained that “mode of selection includes passenger capacity, frequency of the landing and take-off, their response to payment of bills.”
“Among the domestic carriers, they were the best. They had the best volume; they were

Supergal Weekend Review: Still on Tonto Dike Songs #Poko

Been a while you read Supergal weekend review folks! Now let me share my very candid opinion/review of Tonto Dikeh's debut singles that's become a social media rave this week. I don't think I can ignore sharing it with you guys and really, I don't think Tonto should get herself worked up over being so criticised over her new-found career in music when there's (actually), a few things more worse than her; and that couldn't be anything else but Tonto Dikeh doing music!

Ok, what am trying to say here is: If there's anything more worse than Tonto Dikeh doing music, it is still Tonto Dikeh doing music!

I bet a lot of people wouldn't have been really surprised if she had released a sex tape and without think she's gone too far since everyone knows Tontolet is half-an-actress.

Seriously, I wouldn't have mistaken that for an April fool prank but hell no! Tonto's epic fail of a debut was released in October!!

I mean, who releases a totally ridiculous Nollywood soundtrack (that missed it's way to the editors studio) for a single! She could have at least, featured her godson Wizkid to save us the horror of her voice.

And if Tontolet had intended making money off that record, it better be from a lawsuit I'll advice her to file against whoever her manager and producers in crime are!

Now, if watching a music channel is your second best thing, it may now only be safe and

New reports claim that the 24-year-old singer and partner Simon Konecki welcomed their child on Friday night.

She is said to be 'ecstatic' by the baby's arrival. Adele announced her pregnancy back in June, writing on her official blog: 'I'm delighted to announce that Simon and I are expecting our first child together.

'I wanted you to hear the news direct from me, obviously we’re over the moon and very excited but please respect our privacy at this precious time. Yours always, Adele xx'

Adele and Simon started dating last summer and moved in together earlier this year. Simon also has a five-year-old daughter with his ex-wife Clary Fisher.

From the "distasteful" to the tear-inducing: Nigeria’s Got Talent hits Abuja, Calabar and Benin

It moved easily from the emotional to the hilarious at the Abuja,

Calabar and Benin auditions of the country's biggest talent hunt show,
Nigeria’s Got Talent. Episode 5 took us into the final auditions.

It began with a tone of disapproval set by the judges at the Abuja

audition. The ‘Big Star Acrobatic Troop’ were unimpressive, as were
Ndanyomo Ogbonnaya, a 48 year-old man who sang in his native tongue and
Francis who used his mouth as a saxophone. The next act was from a
cross-dressing comedian called Peter. "Not only was your comedy
distasteful," said actress and judge, Kate Henshaw. "But I also find you
distasteful."

The breezy, fast-paced edition, interspersed as usual with quips and

commentary by the bubbly host Andre Blaze moved to Calabar, where the
judges found plenty to approve of. Two young men in diapers called
'Adult Babies' got the audience laughing and a singer called Debbie won

Tonto Dike Singles: Death to Wack Music by Wale Odunsi

It is now glaring that most Nigerians who do well (or not) in their chosen field, find the music industry a convenient vacation chalet or an adventure forecourt to exhibit whatever is left of them.

Few months ago, news broke out that popular actress and renowned smoker, Tonto Dikeh was in the studio working on her debut singles. She obviously wanted to join the “
I’ve been singing since I was in my mother’s womb” bandwagon; the “I used to sing in the choir” opportunists.

The gist did not come as a surprise; quite a number of Nollywood stars have at one time or the other released songs, albeit frail attempts. They include
Genevieve Nnaji, Omotola Jalade-Ekehinde, Nkem Owoh (aka Osuofia) among others.

Before I give my opinion on what is presently the most talked about subject in the Nigerian movie/music industry, may I outline two words which any aspiring artiste must be conversant with.

One is Music, defined as sounds produced by instruments or voices, arranged or played in order to create an effect. The other is Talent – simply described as the natural ability to do something well.

Regrettably, our dear Tonto who it appears does not have the slightest idea of the above ‘sine qua non’, decided (or was deceived) to record not just a song but two. For the love of God, must the whole world sing?

The much-awaited tracks, “Itz ova” and “High” are anything but good tunes. Don’t eat me

#HuntingSeason .. Burna Boy VS Tonto Dike

Errrr!! We all know Tonto Dike released two of her single today 'Itz Ova' and 'Hi' .. Burna boy was  looking for 'wack' artists to shoot this evening and Tonto Dike was the victim.. He tweeted '‘God punish all of you who disrespect the name of music by releasing d noisy wackness bein released these days. Death is d least yu deserve’'

Trust twitter na.. they responded to his tweets and told him that was too harsh.. People told him to delete the tweet or he should apologize . He later apologised one hour later saying "‘Ok maybe dat waz a bit extreme. I sincerely appologize. This is why I don’t tweet. A bit too honest. Sorry‘ adding that he had not heard the Tonto song and it never inspired his earlier tweet.

But come to think of it.. There was some truth in what he said and we all know the truth is bitter.. I guess you have heard her songs.. Enjoy!!!
