THE SINGER - OYINKANSOLA

Oyinkansola Abosede Moronfolu , Born to civil servant parents, her Father worked in the security services while her late mother was an immigration officer; Oyinkansola is the third of five children with two sisters and two brothers. She had her primary and secondary education in Abeokuta before attending the Ibadan Polytechnic.
Oyinkansola started singing in the church choir as a child when her ghanaian choir mistress, Mrs. Vera Akindele discovered her singing in the church compound. Oyinkansola grew up listening to the music of indigenous greats like Kollington Ayinla and Barrister (Fuji Music), Sunny Ade and Ebenezar Obey (Juju). She also would listen to her uncle’s collection of Whitney Houston, Majek Fashek, Musical Youth and Michael Jackson records.
As she grew into her late teens and early twenties she discovered and fell in love with the music of contemporary greats like Mary J. Blige, Anita Baker, Tracy Chapman and more recently Keyshia Cole, Jasmine Sullivan India Arie. Oyinkansola plays the acoustic guitar.
