PRESS RELEASE : THE NIGHT THING CAMPAIGN

PRESS RELEASE 

BP vision is a cutting edge entertainment company set up to re-define the role of entertainment using creative concepts in events and stage solutions as tools for connecting people to their environment and roots. In this quest BP Vision has come up with a campaign called “The Night Thing Campaign”.

 “MYSTERY” a stage play, is one in the series of the Night Thing Series which is part of “The Night Thing Campaign”. It is the story of an ex-convict and his lawyer. After 6 years, the lawyer is on trial for his life. The trial is fair. Is the judge fair? The case: …was the guilty innocent? The truth can be mysterious. Can this “TRUTH” set the lawyer free? Was the ex-convict guilty as charged? Was the lawyer at his best? Well he has to be at his best now! ...the menace we see, we created.

The play written and directed by the duo of Michael Asuelime and Seun Adeleye starring Yemi Blaq, OC Ukeje and Kemi ’Lala’ Akindoju will be staged at the AGIP HALL, MUSON CENTRE on the 20th, 21st, & 22nd May, 2011.

Pre-Event Cocktail starts at 6:30pm.  The Command Performance will be graced as the SPECIAL GUEST of HONOUR by His Excellency, Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola SAN, The Executive Governor of Lagos State and other eminent personalities.
                              
Actors’ Profile
OC Ukeje:
Okechukwu Ukeje, who owns a Diploma Certificate from the prestigious New York Film Academy, is a rare and budding talent extraordinaire. With a unique combination of good looks, an acting prowess, a great voice, a good command of english and proper diction, as well as a flare for broadcast, he is doubtless, a performing artiste to reckon with.
The Marine Science graduate from the University of Lagos joined a group called the Rhythm of the Blackman, where he played lead roles in two of the organization’s most recognized and most sold out stage plays, namely “Going Back to my Roots” and “Dawn of a New Day.”
He won the 2nd edition of the much acclaimed reality TV show, Amstel Malta Box Office which gave him the lead role in a movie, “White Waters”, starring Joke Silva and Rita Dominic, which premiered at the Silverbird Galleria on the 4th of December, 2007 and bagged five awards at the annual African Movie Academy Awards (AMAA), 2008
He won the award for the “Best Upcoming Actor” category. 

Yemi Blaq:
Since making his entry into the movie industry in 2005, Wesley Snipes' look-alike, Yemi Blaq, has proved it takes more than great looks to be a lead man. With a diction that is captivating, his roles in movies like Sting, Control and Coded were outstanding. He inherited his love for the arts from his parents who were art inclined especially his very artistic mother.
He grew up writing poetry and songs before learning the rudiments of the business.
Down to earth and very accommodating, the Theatre Arts graduate from the University of Benin won in the television reality dance programme ‘Celebrity takes 2’, where he dazzled his fans and audience with scintillating dance moves.


Kemi ‘LALA’Akindoju:
Lala started acting professionally in December 2005 in Ope Odunfa’s All I Want for Christmas. She has since featured in over 70 stage productions around the country working with ace producers and directors like Joke Silva, Bimbo Manuel and Victor Sanchez. Popularly known as Lala, she is famous for her role in The V-monologues-The Nigerian story (2008), The V vs T Monologues in Lagos and Ghana (2010) and Sizwe Bansi is Dead, (where she played a South African Man). She is presently one of the newest faces on MNET Africa’s Tinsel where she plays the role of Louisa Monroe.
She was announced as the Actor of the Year at The Future Awards 2010 and holds a Masters Degree in Media and Communication from the Pan-African University.

Part of the proceeds from this play will go to charity.
