The Lagos Photo Festival, currently in its third year, is organized by the African Artists’ Foundation (AAF) and is a major photography festival in Nigeria.
The AAF seeks to establish a community for contemporary photography, providing a platform for the development of photographic talent through mentoring, workshops and seminars. It also seeks to unite local and international artists through images that summarize individual experience, identities and beliefs from across the world.
Check out pictures of guests / exhibitors/ artistes at the fund raising dinner on September 23rd, 2012 at Latanna Room, Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island.
Funds raised from the dinner will be used to secure a permanent home, set up
a “Museum”, and invite professionals from World Press Photo to support new staff
through their training program. The evening refelcted the meaning of LagosPhoto
and its aims to document and inspire change.
The Chairman of the evening, Femi Lijadu, and the Master of Ceremonies, Wunika Mukan, will lead the journey through the world of photography in Lagos. With special musical performances and guest speakers such as George Osodi, the evening will end with a photography auction led by Roger Woodbridge. All photographs auctioned have been donated by leading local and international photographers, including Alafuro Sikoki,
