'I am frost beaten, sun burnt and almost died but..' - Funmi Iyanda's Experience at Mount Kilimajaro

On March 5th, Award-winning producer and broadcast journalist, Funmi Iyanda joined other climbers from more than 32 African countries in a historic advocacy climb of Mount Kilimanjaro. Africa UNiTE is organising this climb as part of its campaign to End Violence Against Women and Girls, as well as secure concrete national commitments from African governments to be implemented by 2015 to end violence against women and girls.

Other climbers are South African rock band the Parlotones, South African actress Rosie Motene, human rights lawyer, Ann Njogu, Congolese singer Barbara Kanam and many African women and men who play an active role in their countries.

Funmi Iyanda took to her twitter account to share her experience at Mount Kilimanjaro:

She added "Thks all. tell u d blow by blow but pls lemme get home, get d blood back in my fingers/toes n walk upright again:). Info'll b static 4 now."
