The stage is set and the actors are ready for Season 4 of Yaw live on Stage, an annual presentation of a stage play by Yaw, his last show was LAST MOLUE, a play that was described as the best play to graced the stage in 2011, the Popular On Air Personality and talented actor is back again on stage with another satire and this year its titled APRIL FOOL, which is a well written two man play and will feature Yaw and the crazy comedian Owen Gee, one of the most creative stand Up Comedian from this part of the world.
According to Yaw.“April Fool" is a satire that deals with the socio-political and socio-economy situation of Nigeria, the play is written in views of the happenings in the country in recent times, that is, the good,the bad and the ugly, all these experiences are presented in a more humorous pattern to entertain and educate
Nigerians without been offensive to anybody, group of people or the government of the day, let me borrow from a quote by Mary Hirsch, he continues “Humor is a rubber sword - it allows you to make a point without drawing blood” and that is the point am trying to make in April Fool.
The play is written by Obi Martins and directed by Emma Uduma, a young, talented and versatile play and movie director and is slated for Sunday 1st April 2012 at The Muson Center, Onikan, Lagos. With two shows, the first show starts by 3pm while the second show starts by 7pm. The gate fees are as follows 1st show- 3k Regular 5k VIP. 2nd show - 5k Regular, 10k VIP, 300k Table. And there will be lots of giveaways , ranging from return tickets by Dana Air to all their destinations in Nigeria,Swatch Wrist watches, Power Horse energy drink, Blackberry Phones etc.
The show is not about drama alone, the audience will also be treated to live performances by outstanding Nigerian Artistes like :FLAVOUR, ICE-PRINCE,9ICE, BRYMO, OMAWUMI, DAVIDO, J MARTINS, TERRY GEE etc. and leading Nigeria Comedians such as Comedy King, ALIBABA, AY, GORDONS, JULIUS AGWU,EMEKA SMITH e.t.c.
Born in the 70’s, Steve Onu currently with WAZOBIA FM 95.1 as the morning on air personality with the name Yaw and his listener ship is nothing to compare with. His show is considered the most listened. He has won over 20 awards as the best radio presenter for the year 2008 till date and also a UN YOUTH AMBASSADOR FOR PEACE and FACE OF PEACE, aside being a broadcaster he is an actor, producer, presenter and compare. In the last four years Yaw has produced three well attended plays namely: Po, Private Lies and Last Molue under the name Yaw9ja Entertainment .
