Hennessy Artistry, the innovative musical platform launched by Hennessy worldwide in 2006 announced today, an impressive list of artistes who will participate in this year’s edition. Hennessy Communications Manager Tokini Peterside told journalists at a star-studded media briefing today that Popstar eLDee the Don, R and B siren Tiwa Savage, King of the Lagos Party- Banky W and Chocolate City’s multi-talented artiste Jesse Jags have all signed up to be part of this year’s Artistry

According to Peterside, these set of artistes were chosen because of their cutting edge style that sets them apart from the crowd. With their various styles they are coming together to create, mix and blend their different sounds to deliver that special song that represents the vibrant music genres in Nigeria.

“These artistes represent what Hennessy Artistry is all about: the perfect mix and blend which produces the premium Hennessy cognac experience. Just like last year’s edition a video will be shot for the song they come up with. A couple of concert is also in the works where people can be a part of the Hennessy experience” Peterside adds

Hennessy Artistry 2010 featured Nneka, M.I, Ice Prince, Bez and Shina Peters. These artistes who represent a wide range of Nigerian urban music came together to compose and perform a song titled Like A Bottle. Like A Bottle was produced by Kas and the video was shot

by Dragon Fly Productions. The video premiered at a grand concert at GET Arena where fans witnessed all the artistes perform.

This music platform which was created as a global property by Hennessy made its debut in Nigeria in 2007. The maiden edition was a cocktail mixing among bartenders. In 2008, Hennessy Artistry changed the format to a competition among upcoming disc jockeys. Artistes got heavily involved in Hennessy Artistry in 2009 when it became a competition among upcoming artistes. The artistes involved in the 2009 edition were Ice Prince, Mo’ Cheddah, Jimmy Flames, Bez and Blaise. Ice Prince eventually emerged as the winner and won a sum of 2 million naira.

Since its inception in 2006, Hennessy Artistry has been able to mix and blend hip and inspirational music from around the world. Artistes that have been involved with Artistry, in other countries include Kanye West, Pharell Williams, Ne-Yo, Leona Lewis, LL Cool J and Fabulous.

Meanwhile, this year’s initiative kicks off with club parties, with Artistes like YQ, DavidO, Shank and Black Magic performing at different clubs in Lagos, Abuja and Port Harcourt. They will be supported by DJ Caise.
