TOSIN MARTINS ON GLO NAIJA SINGS AFTER SOUND SOUND


While many are wondering why Tosin Martins has been out of the scene of entertainment events for some time now, the talented musician returns to say the year has been the busiest for him so far.
Aside his task as a resident judge at the last edition of the music reality show, Glo Naija Sings, Tosin Martins’ unbridled talent as a musician has once again been made visible as he concludes plans to re-issue his double album titled ‘Higher’.
According to Tosin Martins, he has chosen to release a double album because his fans are two faceted and his album ‘Higher’ dully satisfies both audience. In the double album ‘Higher’, there is ‘Higher the Confession’ that meets the musical needs of his Gospel fans and ‘Higher the Expression’ for his secular fans.
‘Higher’ by Tosin Martins is one bouquet of collaborations, with voices of major Nigerian stars like Banky W, Tiwa Savage, Jesse Jagz, M.I, Ego, Sage, Rooftop MC, Naeto C and others.
Currently ruling the airwaves is another love medley by the team of Tosin Martins and Tiwa Savage titled “Champion Love” also from the ‘Higher’ album.
The Olo Mi crooner alongside some of Nigeria’s finest voices like MI, Jesse Jagz, Ego, Cobhams Asuquo and others recently took live music a notch higher at the Shell Hall, Muson Centre for Sound Sound, a live musical concert by Nova Promotions.
All stage performances at sound Sound were drawn from Tosin Martins’ already released double album with backup from the Oxygen Band. High point of the evening was the star studded-performance by the trio of MI, Cobhams and Tosin Martins on the song “WHY” produced by Cobhams, which drew a standing ovation from the august members of the audience.
Tosin’s musical expertise has been beckoned on again this year by Glo Naija sings. For him it is always an exciting opportunity to be on a musical reality show because in one way or the other, it is some form of giving back of musical experience and expertise to produce more African talents.
Tosin martins who is not unfamiliar with the struggles and challenges of breaking grounds in the Nigerian entertainment industry, says his success story can be described as a typical story of faith and hard work.
