Although our target audiences are Yoruba youths, this year we have decided to open the conference to all Nigerian youths to foster unity among all from other geo-political zones in the country. This year’s convention creates an avenue where youths can be oriented on the need to be self-less and patriotic to their motherland Nigeria. This notion is especially important for Nigerians in the diaspora, remembering that distance should not lead to ignorance. We as the youths are the future of this great nation.
We expect about a five to eight hundred people to attend and participate in the three day event.Last year’s event attracted highly esteemed dignitaries from Nigeria, as well as the United Kingdom. Some of the distinguished guests included Governors of Lagos, Osun and Ondo State their excellences Gov. Babatunde Raji Fashola and Dr. Olusegun Mimiko respectively. Immediate past Minister of information Professor Dora Akunyili, Mayor Brenda Lawrence of Southfield (The First Female African
American Mayor in Michigan), Honorable Kyrian Nwagwu (The First Nigeria and African born Elected official in the state of Michigan, U.S.A), Chief Adeola Odusanya (Former President EgbeOmo Yoruba of United States), Honorable Sunday Omoyemi (President of Yoruba American Community) Asiwaju Temidayo Israel and, Balogun Temitope Omotayo,( Vice Chairman National Council of Yoruba Youth & Co-Founder Wazobia Network USA) amongst others.
Not only did we attract attendance by such dignitaries, we also had the pleasure of working with and receiving sponsorship from the Lagos State Government (Babatunde RajiFashola) ,Ondo State Government (OlusegunMimiko), Moremi Foundation, EgbeOmo Yoruba North America, Young Diaspora Organization(AsiwajuDayo Israel), City of Southfield Michigan(Mayor Brenda Lawrence), City of Lathrup Village(KyrianNwagwu), Olamild Entertainment, AfricanMirror. All these entities collaborated with us in the past to make our previous convention a success.
This year’s convention hopes to invite special guests from Nigeria, the United States, Canada, Europe and other parts of the world.
