Lagos|Nigeria Africa's King of R&B Darey released today, an exciting
new cut - a remix of 'Sisi Eko' one of the lead tracks off his
recently-released double album. Featuring the 'Prince of Highlife', the new single was produced by
Darey and Del B at Soul Muzik studios (SMS) in Abuja.
Just like the original, which was jointly written by Darey and Cobhams
Asuquo, the remix is an anthem for the Lagos Lady, the all-popular
'Sisi Eko' that's a regular in the dictionary of Lagos. The Lagos
clubs are already moving to the music; loving the increased tempo and
the result of the powerful blend of Darey and Flavour's amazing
styles. 'We did this for the Ladies again' Darey says. 'And I'm glad my friend
Flavour is able to join me on this celebration of our beautiful
women'. Both singers pour adulation on the subject of the song; painting
pictures of a blissful union; willing to give it all to keep her
despite all the drama that comes with wooing her.
The new single, Darey says, is the first of many remixes to come; as
the multi-award winning musician prepares to release a remix
album
this summer. The remix album will be released online and in the Nigerian market; as
Darey works to complete his first international album later this year.
Fans can listen to 'Sisi Eko remix' on Darey's facebook page
(www.fb.com/darey) or via www.darey.com - where the musician says he
has surprise gifts for those who stop by regularly.
In other news, Darey's international profile is growing rapidly,
following the release last month, of his first UK single. On June 16,
he landed at No 2 on the prestigious Billboard (next big sound) chart.
He was number 25 only few days earlier. His debut UK single 'The way
you are' ft. Chamillionaire is getting rave reviews from the UK press
- with analysts suggesting he 'could be the one that'll finally import
African-made R&B into Europe'. His UK album, to be self-titled, is due
later this year.
