KANYE WEST SIGNS D'BANJ TO G.O.O.D MUSIC RECORD LABEL

Kanye West’s GOOD (acronym for Getting Out Our Dreams) Music which is home to John Legend, Common, Mos Def, Kid Cudi and Big Sean, among other artistes may have allegedly signed Dapo Adebanjo a.k.a. D’banj.

In addition, other sources report that D’Banj’s manager, Sunday Are of List Entertainment, confirmed that there have been talks between Mr. West and D’banj but that D’Banj officially signed the contract today. “Yes there have been discussions between the two parties lately. They have been exchanging contracts but now the wait is over, he said.
Kanye West is also reportedly interested in working with Mo-hits Records’ award winning Producer, Don Jazzy.

One Mic Naija June Edition

One Mic Naija, the music and comedy showcase that gives a platform to emerging acts alongside established acts is back! And this time, even bigger!

According to a press release drafted by s.h.a.r.e Entertainment, One Mic June edition will be headlined by Nikki Laoye, a vibrant and energetic performer with hits like 'Taka Sufe' and 'Never Felt This Way Before'. Nikki who has been nominated for various awards and performed at big shows, will be joined by Yemi Alade, whose single, 'Fimisile' featuring eLDee is a fan favourite.
Other acts performing at the June 26th event are Slim T, Efa, Suzie, Five Mics and Le'mmon.

Show hosts Kel Ohia and Kunle KB Bello (both rappers) are joined this time around by Koffi, a seasoned comedian who is the guest comic act.

The daring Karen, whose exploits as a housemate in the BBA has attracted the attention of many viewers, is expected to become a movie star after the reality show. At the moment, several movie producers and directors, who have noticed her daring attitude, particularly in showcasing her natural endowments, have been making plans to feature her in their flicks.
Sources in the movie industry that several top producers and directors have reserved scripts for Karen, who they believe could take up controversial romantic roles in movies.
With the way things are at the moment, Karen may be the next Cossy Orjiakor, as she is also expected to appear in some musical videos after her BBA exploits.

A popular director who didn’t want to be named hinted that Karen is currently on the list of the proposed cast for his next big film project.
Karen is likely to play the lead because she has the guts to deliver the romance roles very well. I had wanted to use a Ghanaian actress for the role, but with someone like Karen around, there is no need going that far. I guess she will even do better.”

The producer added that “one thing that surprised me was the fact that she is also on the list of many of my colleagues. We were discussing somewhere recently and in the course of that, I realized that most of them also have similar plans. I think the girl is going to make it big, only that she needs to be more careful.”
Shortly before her surprise selection as one of Nigeria’s representatives at the BBA, Karen had reportedly undergone surgery to enlarge her small boobs, which she now flaunts with the tattoos.

The office of general security reportedly impounded copies of the chart-topping album when it arrived at the airport in Beirut. Taking home the inaugural prize for Best African Movie was Viva Riva!, the stylish adrenaline-fuelled crime thriller directed and written by Congolese film-maker, Djo Tunda Wa Munga. The breathless story of the rise and fall of Riva, a Congolese smuggler who makes a fortune overnight and is hunted down in Kinshasa, Viva Riva! Stars Patsha Bay Mukana as Riva, a likable Kinshasa-based hustler and Manie Malone as Nora, the girlfriend of a tough local crime boss. It seems Tunde Ednut is really gearing up for the transition to a full artiste. The comedian has released a new single, titled 'Catching Cold', a follow up to his debut, 'My Kinda Song', and its video.
The new single, produced by Muno, follows along the lines of its predecessor, simple lines, simple beat, simple delivery; Tunde is not overdoing the effort, probably why he hasn't caused any major furors, good or bad, with his releases.

Lauryn Hill is pregnant again.

Recently, during her concert in Detroit, Michigan; Lauryn Hill announced what we've been suspecting for a while now after seeing a suspicious bump in her belly; She's indeed pregnant again.
During the concert held at Chene Park in Detroit last night, Lauryn Hill announced that she’s pregnant with her sixth child. A source at the concert added that the announcement was not needed: "She's big as a house, announcements not needed. She said this was the last show on this leg of her tour because she's taking time off to give birth."
Since her comeback last year, Lauryn has been performing a series of gigs and tours around the US; though, only one official new single has been released, and there is still no official sign of a new body of work in the pipeline.
